Indian tribal silver earrings. Small.Old/antique. Hanuman protection amulet. 925
This is a pair of earrings made from old Indian silver amulets.
The 2 pieces were originally 2 small seperate amulets which have been been made and worn by the tribal gypsy people of Rajasthan in Northern India. They are 50 - 150 years old, and are made of extremely pure silver (98%). Both feature Hanuman the monkey god. They were worn to offer protection to the wearer. I bought them myself in Rajasthan and matched the 2 amulets to make a pair of earrings. The ear hooks are new and are sterling silver 925.
The amulets are 1.4 cm across amd 1.7 cm high, including the hoop. From the top of the ear hooks the earrings are just over 3cm long.
I am the designer of these earrings and I have put them together with my own hands. I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusal jewellery.
