This is a stunning necklace made of an antique silver protection amulet and emeralds.
The amulet/pendant is old silver (approx 50-150 years old) and has been made and worn by the tribal people of Rajasthan in Northern India. It is a protection amulet worn to give proctection to the wearer. I travel to Rajasthan to buy these old silver pieces, which are becoming quite hard to find these days. The amulet has been handmade and is extremely pure solid fine silver (around 96%). The catch and larger silver beads around the pendant are also fine silver. The smaller beads between the emeralds are sterling silver.
The emeralds are natural crude emeralds which have been faceted so they catch the light beautifully from all angles.
The necklace is just under 18" long.
I am the designer of this necklace and I have made it with my own hands. I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for the last 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusual jewellery.
Every item will be sent beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
