Old /antique Indian Tribal silver prayer box pendant with dangles. Fine silver.
This is a Old Silver Tribal pendant.
The pendant was originally made and worn by the tribal gypsy people of Rajasthan in Northern India. It is a prayer box and been permanently sealed. I bought the pendant in Rajastan myself. It is 60-150 years old, and is extremely pure fine silver with 98% purity. (Sterling silver is 92.5%).
The hoop at the top is 2.75 mm internally, which is probably not big enough to pass the clasp of a silver chain through, so it will have to be worn on a cord, or fitted onto a chain with a remove-able clasp.
The pendant is 2.5 cm acoss and 2.5 cm high, including the hoops and dangles.
I will send the pendant on a length of very strong black cotton cord, tied into an adjustable length slip knot.
I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusal jewellery.
Every item will be send beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
