Tibetan mala bead clip-on charm. Turquoise, brass & sterling silver 925.
This is a Tibetan mala bead clip-on charm.
The main bead comes from a Tibetan mala or string of prayer beads. I bought it in Bodhgaya in India (Bodhgaya is the town in India where the Buddha was enlightened). I bought them from a Tibetan trader who had traveled down from Tibet for some teachings by the Dalai Lama. These are very unusual beads, I have never seen any others of this design. The blue chips are turquoise stone, and the metal is brass. I have made it into a charm using a sterling silver 925 lobster clasp .
The large bead is 1.1 cm across. The charm is 2.8 cm (just over 1") including the clasp.
I have designed this charm and put it together with my own hands. I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusual jewellery.
Every item will be sent beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
