Tibetan mala prayer bead earrings. Red/gold. Sterling silver 925. Handmade.

The main beads in these earrings are from a Tibetan prayer mala (rosary) that I bought from an old Tibetan lady selling malas by the road side in Bodhgaya, (where the Buddha was enlightened) in India. She'd travelled all the way from Tibet to hear the Dalai Lama give teachings. Unfortunately I don't speak any Tibetan and she didn't speak any English, so I don't know what they are made of. (I think they may be buffalo bone underneath the colour and decoration). I have made them into earrings using solid sterling silver (925) wire and ear hooks.

From the top of the hook, these earrings are 3.25 cm long.

I am the designer of these earrings and I have made them with my own hands. I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusual jewellery.

Every item will be sent beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
